Each year beginning on Thanksgiving Day, The Beaumont Police Department’s Special Assignment Unit is tasked with increasing Police presence and patrol near the Dowlen & Eastex shopping area. As the holiday shopping season begins, Businesses in the Eastex & Dowlen corridor will see an increase in shoppers and traffic. A higher volume of shoppers can mean a larger number of potential victims for criminals seeking the opportunity to commit crimes. This increased Patrol is BPD’s proactive approach to heighten visibility, deter crime, and increase response time to any crimes that may occur.
