On April 24, 2018, the Beaumont City Council voted to amend the Code of Ordinances to allow animals adopted from the Beaumont Animal Shelter to be microchipped prior to adoption. With this change, all animals adopted from the Beaumont Animal Shelter will be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. In addition to this, for a fee of $25, the City will provide microchipping services to Beaumont pet-owners.

A microchip is a small device, no bigger than a grain of rice, which is injected under your pet’s skin. Microchipping your pet is very important. In the event that your pet gets lost, microchips help to easily identity you as the owner and greatly increases the chance of you being reunited with your pet.
