On Tuesday, May 2, with unanimous approval, the Beaumont City Council authorized the issuance of Water Revenue Bonds in the amount of $21 million for citywide water and sewer improvements. Water Revenue Bonds allow the City to borrow money, which is then repaid with revenue it receives from its water and sewer customers.
These funds will be used to complete a variety of projects, including replacing fire hydrants, rehabilitating water and sewer lines, performing lift station repairs and making improvements to the City’s water plant and sewer plant.
Delivery and receipt of the bond proceeds are scheduled for June 1, 2017.
