On Monday, November 16, 2015 at 8:59 am, Beaumont Officers were dispatched to 5080 Helbig in reference to a CrimeStoppers tip. A tipster said a black male, wanted for the Aggravated Robbery of the Corner Stop at 3710 East Lucas November 14, 2015, was in an apartment and still wearing the same clothes.
Officers went to the apartment and a black male fled out of a rear window. He jumped a fence and ran into a wooded area near Bigner Rd. Responding officers set up a perimeter and K-9 was called out to the scene. The K-9 was able to track the suspect into the 3300 block of Paris St where he was taken into custody.
He was identified as Donnie Ray Gilbert, 29 year old Beaumont man, wanted for the Aggravated Robbery committed October 27, 2015 at the Country Corner Store in the 9400 Block of Hwy 365 in Jefferson County. He had an Aggravated Robbery warrant with a $500,000 bond.
He was arrested and transported to Beaumont Police Department to speak with Detectives about the Aggravated Robbery on E. Lucas and he confessed.
He was transported to Jefferson County Jail and booked in for the JCSO Aggravated Robbery Warrant, Fail to Identify-Fugitive From Justice and Evading Arrest. He will face additional Aggravated Robbery Charges for the E. Lucas Robbery.
