A 21-year-old man suffered non-live threatening injuries in a shooting that occurred in Beaumont’s south end.
At about 9:29 p.m., Patrol Officers responded to an apartment located in the 4300 block of Avenue A to a reported shooting. The victim told officers that he answered a knock at the door and was confronted by a man armed with a handgun. The victim struggled with the assailant who then fired three rounds into the apartment. Two of the rounds struck the victim in his upper body and leg causing non-life threatening injuries. The suspect then fled the area.
Beaumont EMS transported the victim to St. Elizabeth ER where he was listed in stable condition.
The victim described the suspect as either a white male with a dark complexion or a black male with a light complexion, about 5’06” tall, weighing between 180-200 pounds, wearing all black with a black ski mask.
The victim was not very cooperative and did not volunteer much information about the incident. Detectives are working to determine the true circumstances that lead up to the shooting and locate the man responsible for the shooting.
