Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:27 p.m., officers responded to the Anchor church, located at 6655 Hwy 105, in reference to a male who stated he’d been shot in the face.  The subject, a 26 year old Port Arthur man, had what appeared to be a single, small caliber gunshot wound to his face.  He told officers he was at apartments on Alpine when the incident occurred.  He was transported by Beaumont EMS to St. Elizabeth Hospital.  Officers were investigating this call when  a resident of 6030 Alpine called police. The resident said after arriving home, they observed a subject slumped over in a vehicle.  Officers responded and located a deceased male subject sitting inside a black vehicle.

The investigation revealed the two incidents were related.

The deceased male was identified as James Jones, a 26 year old Port Arthur man.      

Detectives are investigating and following leads.
