An argument over a woman led to a stabbing that left 19-year-old Beaumont man with non-life threatening injuries.

At about 9:08 on January 30, patrol officers responded to the Regent I Apartment in the 1700 block of Regent in reference to a man with a knife.  When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old Beaumont man suffering from a stab wound.

Witnesses told officers that the victim had been involved in an argument over a woman with a 26-year-old Beaumont man.  The argument turned into a physical fight and the younger man knocked out the older man.  The younger man then left and went to an adjacent apartment.  The older man regained consciousness, grabbed a knife, and went to confront the younger man.  During the second altercation, the older man cut the younger man’s arm and stabbed him once in the shoulder.  The attacker then fled on foot.

Beaumont EMS transported the stabbing victim to St. Elizabeth ER where physicians treated and released him.

Detectives have identified the attacker and patrol officers are still attempting to locate him.  Once found, the man will face charges of aggravated assault.
