As a result of the diligent work done by Beaumont Police Officers, two wanted men have been arrested in Beaumont’s south end.
At about 8:30am on 08/07/15, patrol officers arrived in the 2700 block of Wall Street, in an attempt to serve a warrant on 30 year old Beaumont man, Miguel Rivera. Rivera was also a suspect in a burglary that had recently taken place in 4600 block of Bristol Drive. Officers were approaching the front door, as another Beaumont man, 24 year old John McKinney, ran from the house. Officers chased McKinney, and apprehended him quickly. It was discovered that McKinney had a warrant for his arrest as well.
After apprehending McKinney, Beaumont officers returned to serve the warrant on Rivera, who was found in the inside the home. Rivera was taken into custody without incident. While inside the home, officers received information that stolen property was possibly inside the house, along with an unknown amount of methamphetamine. Detectives and narcotics officers began arriving on scene to assist patrol officers with searching for the stolen property and methamphetamine. As officers were conducting the search, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine were discovered, along with several stolen items. Rivera was arrested and taken to jail by Beaumont officers for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant. McKinney was arrested and taken to jail by Beaumont officers for evading and an outstanding warrant.
