Juanda Bryant has written a book to help children with a parent who has been deployed deal with the absence of a parent.  In her book, The Mini Adventures of Danny and the Deployer, Danny finds out that dad is being deployed and may be gone for a while.  Dad gives Danny a special toy before he leaves.  It is a Deployer!  With the Deployer, Danny can go on mini adventures to help him understand what dad does in the military.

Juanda will share her book and have a book signing on Saturday, June 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Elmo Willard Branch Library.

Juanda is a certified educator with a Bachelors in Psychology.  Her dedication to her school and students made Juanda the recipient of the Outstanding Educator and Teacher of the Year awards.  In addition to her scholastic accomplishments, Juanda is also a decorated military veteran who served 12 years in the United States Army as a Transportation Coordinator with combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Juanda comes from a linage of family members who have served this great nation.  Her father, brothers, uncles, aunts, and cousins have all dedicated their lives to the United States military.
