The City of Beaumont will be implementing a test of the emergency notification system for the entire City and region at 9 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2015. The goal of the exercise/test is to encourage additional cell phone registration. If you receive the test notification, you have registered successfully. Please do not call if you receive the notification. You do not need to register again. If you work or live in the city of Beaumont and don’t receive the test notification, please take time to register your cell phone with Beaumont 311 by calling 3-1-1 or 409-980-8311 or email your name, address and phone number to [email protected]. You may also log on to https://cityofbeaumonttx.bbcportal.com/. Please encourage your friends and family to do the same. If you do not live or work in Beaumont, register with STAN- 1-844-578-7826.
Text and phone notifications are one of the best tools we have to keep citizens informed and safe during an emergency. You can register your cell phone for emergency notifications by clicking on the link above and completing the online form. You can also call 311 or 409-980-8311 to register your cell phone.
By registering, you provide us with multiple ways to notify you in the event of an emergency that affects Beaumont. you also will be enrolled in the Southeast Texas Alerting Network (STAN). This information will remain in the custody of the Beaumont Office of Emergency Management at all times, and will only be used for critical information and emergency notification purposes. You may list land line phone numbers, however we are most interested in gathering cell phone numbers and email addresses.
This system, combined with our other emergency alert methods, is designed to get emergency messages to the public quickly and effectively.
