At 9:07 A.M. this morning, a fatal car accident involving a white Chrysler sedan, a silver Mercedes sedan, and a brown UPS truck, occurred in the south bound lanes of the 1600 block of Cardinal Drive. Beaumont Police Department’s patrol officers were dispatched to the scene. According to witnesses, the white Chrysler car came to a complete stop due to the construction zone traffic. Upon seeing the Chrysler come to a stop, the Mercedes began slowing to a stop as well. Unfortunately, the UPS truck was not able to stop in time and collided with the back of the Mercedes. This caused the Mercedes to collide with the back of the Chrysler. Due to the impact of the collisions, the front seat passenger of the Mercedes sustained fatal injuries. The name of the deceased will be released after his next-of-kin is notified.
