Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding a disturbance that resulted in two men suffering stab wounds.

At about 10:24 pm this evening, our 911 Communications Center received multiple calls about a possible stabbing in the area of the 700 block of Euclid Street in Beaumont’s south end.

Officers arrived and found a 51-year-old man suffering from apparent stab wounds to his arm and upper body.  Officers also located a 33-year-old man near the intersection of Sabine Pass @ Harriot Street.  This man was suffering from apparent stab wounds to his upper body and head.  Beaumont EMS transported both men to St. Elizabeth ER for treatment of the non-life threatening injuries.

At this early stage of the investigation, it appears that the two men, who were friends, became involved in an argument at the house on Euclid Street.  The argument escalated to a physical fight during which the older man produced a knife and cut the younger man.  The younger man then also produced a knife and cut the older man.  The younger man then fled the house.

Emergency Room staff expected to treat and release the older man.  They expected to admit the younger man and listed him in stable condition.

Detectives are still attempting to determine if either party wishes to file charges.
