The Willard Library is beginning a new partnership with the Woodforest National Bank.  The bank will be offering a monthly seminar teaching about different financial issues.  During the next five months the Financial Seminar will be taking place from 10:00 am to 12 noon on the fourth Saturday of each mont at the Willard Library located.  Seminar classes are appropriate for adults and interested teens.  The schedule is as follows:

• June 24 – Bank On It – an introduction to bank services
– Identify the major types of insured financial institutions
– Identify 5 reasons to use a bank
– Describe the steps involved in opening a bank account
– Describe 2 types of deposit accounts
– Identify additional bank services

• July 22 – Check It Out – How to Choose and Keep a Checking Account
– State the benefits of using a checking account
– Determine which checking account is best for you
– Identify the steps involved in opening a checking account
– Add and withdraw money from a checking account
– Reconcile a check register with a bank statement
– Identify strategies to avoid overdrawing your account
– Explain how debit cards are linked to checking accounts

• August 26 – Paying for College and Cars

• September 23 – Setting Financial Goals

• October 28 – Financial Recovery – How to recover financially and rebuild your credit after a financial setback
