On Wednesday, August 17th, 2016, at approximately 2:25am, officers were patrolling the area Tractor Supply, located at 8055 Eastex Frwy. Officers observed a gray 2004 Dodge Ram, bearing no visible license plates, to be parked on the service road in front of the store. The officer initiated contact with the vehicle and driver. The driver was identified as Dana McDonald, 50 year old Houston man. McDonald told officers that the truck was his vehicle and that he was simply having vehicle troubles. McDonald was wanted through Harris County for Murder. Upon the arrival of assisting officers, Mcdonald was placed under arrest. A further check of the business revealed that officers interrupted Mcdonald as he was preparing to steal a box trailer from the parking lot. Evidence was located on scene that indicated that Mcdonald had just used bolt cutters to cut the security wires attached to the trailers on the lot and apparently discarded the items as the officer approached the scene. Mcdonald was transported to the JCCF, where he was booked in and released to jail staff on his warrant and Felony Theft.
