Shortly after 5:00 PM, a three vehicle accident occurred in the 2500 block of IH 10 East in the east bound lanes. All east bound lanes of IH 10 are closed at Eleventh street at this time. Two of the vehicles involved were tractor/trailers and the third was a private vehicle. The two occupants of the private vehicle had minor injuries but declined transport to the hospital. One truck driver was transported to St Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. One of the tractor/trailers is a tank truck loaded with acid and the other is a flat-bed truck loaded with pipe. The tank truck is damaged to the point that another truck must be brought in and the product transferred. At this time, this process is estimated to take another six hours.
