Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:55 p.m., a Beaumont P.D. patrol officer was in the area of Eastex and Lucas and located a stolen Toyota Tacoma. He followed until he had additional units respond to assist. He activated his lights and siren but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a lengthy pursuit. The stolen Tacoma struck a telephone pole at Pine and Gill St. There were a total of five juvenile occupants. Some fled on foot but all were located. The driver was later taken to Minnie Rogers Juvenile facility for UUMV (Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle) and Evading in a motor vehicle. Two police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit but were not towed and had minor damage. No one was injured.
