September 14, 2016 at 11:39 PM,  officers were patrolling the area of the 600 block of Washington and observed a subject run from the Stop & Shop Convenience store, located at 671 Washington. The subject had on a hooded sweatshirt, had something covering his face and an unknown object in his hand. The officers immediately called out and began to chase the subject. He was quickly apprehended, and the investigation began. According to the clerk, the subject came into the store with a dark colored bag covering his hand. He pointed this bag at them as if there was a weapon in it and stated that he wanted all the money. The clerk refused and the subject attempted to flee the store. It was at this time that officers drove by  witnessed the suspect running from the store. The suspect had a wooden-handled hair-brush wrapped up in a black plastic bag.

The suspect was identified as Gilbert Farrell Corbin, 30 year old Beaumont man.

Corbin was booked in for Aggravated Robbery and has a $50,000 bond.
