On Thursday, September 10, 2015 at approximately 5:00pm, officers responded to the 5300 block of Tyrrell Park Road in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Officers were able to locate the actor vehicle after it exited Tyrrell Park and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated. After leading the officers in a pursuit throughout the city, the actor vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 400 block of Orleans. The driver,  Billy Best, 25 year old man from Orange,  fled on foot. Officers were able to capture him near the 400 block of  Orleans. At that point, Best resisted arrest, but was taken into custody. After an investigation, the officers determined that the victim  was in one of the restrooms at the rear of Tyrrell Park, when he was approached  from behind by Best. Best (who was hiding in the stall) emerged and demanded the victim’s wallet while pointing a knife at him. Best then lunged at the male victim and attempted to stab him. The victim was struck with the knife and he suffered a minor scratch to his wrist. The victim then gave Best his wallet, and Best fled the area in his vehicle. The officers located the victim’s  wallet inside Best’s vehicle.

Best was taken to Jefferson County Jail where he was booked in for Aggravated Robbery, Evading Detention with a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest.
