Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 3:43pm, officers responded to Beaumont Community Credit Union, 660 S. MLK Parkway, in reference to an Aggravated Robbery that had just occurred.  The suspect walked into the credit union and approached the teller.  He had a plastic bag over his hand and acted as if the bag was concealing a gun.  He told the teller he would kill her and demanded money. The teller complied and he fled south with the stolen money.  Beaumont Police and FBI Investigators teamed up to locate the suspect.

At 4:56pm the suspect was located under a house in the 1300 block of Forsythe and taken into custody.  His capture was the direct result of a vigilant citizen and teamwork.

The suspect was identified as Clarence Richard Griffin, a 28 year old transient.   He was transported to the station to speak with investigators and then transported to Jefferson County Jail.  Griffin will have a federal hold placed on him and will be released to FBI Special Agents tomorrow.
