Detectives are investigating a domestic disturbance that occurred at a house in the 3300 block of Waverly in Beaumont’s south end.

At about 9 p.m., a 37-year-old female was involved in a disturbance with her 37-year-old estranged husband.  The argument escalated and the man used an unknown type of cutting instrument to slash the female.  She suffered a laceration to her upper body.

The woman’s 59-year-old mother was also in the house at the time of the incident and attempted to hide in the bathroom.  The man located and attacked the mother stabbing her once in the stomach.

The man then fled, possibly in a red over tan Ford Expedition with temporary tags from Daylight Motors.

The mother drove herself and her daughter to Baptist ER where they were brought to surgery.  At this time, the mother is listed in critical condition and the daughter is listed in stable condition.

Officers are still attempting to locate the suspect.  When we do locate him, he faces two charges of aggravated assault-family violence.
