Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:30 A.M., Chief Singletary will swear in 6 new Beaumont Police Officers. Please join us in the BPD Training Classroom as we welcome these new Officers and their families to the Beaumont Police Department.
The new officers are:
Joseph Nelms -Officer Nelms is a graduate of the LIT Regional Police Academy where he finished at the top of his class. Officer Nelms earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Tyler.
Justin Thompson- Officer Thompson attended Lamar University and is a recent graduate of the LIT Regional Police Academy. Officer Thompson served ten years in the Army Airborne Infantry earning an Honorable Discharge and currently serves in the Texas National Guard.
Christopher Hopkins- Officer Hopkins is a recent graduate of the LIT Regional Police Academy. Officer Hopkins earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from Sam Houston State University. He previously served four years in the United States Marine Corps earning an Honorable Discharge.
Brian Brant- Officer Brant is a recent graduate from the LIT Regional Police Academy. Officer Brant earned a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security from American Military University. Officer Brant recently retired from the United States Navy with an Honorable Discharge after twenty years of service.
Augustin Palomares- Officer Palomares earned an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Lamar State College. Officer Palomares is a recent graduate of the LIT Regional Police Academy where he was a scholarship recipient of the Officer Bryan Hebert Memorial Foundation.
Mark Holmes- Officer Holmes is a graduate of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Officer Police Academy. Officer Holmes recently served two years as a Correctional Officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
