On Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 6:58pm, Officers responded to the 9100 block of Oak Pointe in reference to a missing 69 year old man with Dementia. The man’s wife said he left to visit a relative on Bedford around 3:00pm and never made it. Officers got his vehicle description, other pertinent information and began searching. He was finally contacted by cell phone but he could not give a location due to his Dementia. He could only tell officers that he was out of his vehicle and lost in the woods. Officers located him on Broussard Rd near Patricia. Officers searched the the wooded area by foot until they found him laying on his back at the bottom of a barbed wire fence. He was dehydrated and disoriented. Officers had to carry him out of the woods to meet EMS at the dead end of Hodge Rd. EMS transported him to Baptists for treatment. It was determined that he had been wondering in the wooded area for approximately 5 hrs before officers found him. His vehicle was found in the woods near the dead end of Patricia.
