Early Saturday morning, Beaumont Police Officers observed a white Ford Truck possibly involved in a Burglary traveling in the area of Center and Ashley Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but instead it fled. The vehicle was determined to be stolen. The suspects continued the chase until stopping in a wooded area at 4th and Pecos street. The occupants of the stolen vehicle exited and fled on foot. The passenger was quickly apprehended after a short chase. The driver also fled on foot to a near-by business where he managed to climb into the roofing section of the building and conceal himself in some insulation. Officers were able to locate and arrest him even after his elaborate attempt to hide.
The suspects were identified as:
Passenger : B/M- Bryant Keith Navy, age 50 from Beaumont- Booked For Evading Arrest
Driver : B/M- Clarence Richard Griffin, age 25 from Beaumont- Booked For Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and Evading in Motor Vehicle.
Both suspects were transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
