In the early morning hours around 1:03 a.m. While conducting rescues in a high water rescue vehicle Beaumont Police Officers observed a nissan altima car being driven through high water near 8th street at Roberts.

At this time, Officers observed the vehicle began to float and feared that it would float away. Officers exited their rescue vehicle and entered the water. The officers were able to pull the victim from their vehicle just prior to being fully submerged in water.

Officers placed the victim in the high water rescue vehicle and transported them to a local shelter. Beaumont Police are urging the public to NOT drive in this weather. If you need assistance contact us for non-emergency at 311 or emergency at 911.
