On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at approximately 9:44pm, Officers responded to the Smoke Shop, 3308 S. MLK, in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the business had been burglarized. Video surveillance showed that two male suspects fled the area in a Silver Dodge Ram truck after committing the burglary. A responding patrol officer recalled a similar incident and was able to determine the identity of the suspect. The investigation led to the arrest of Robin Claridy, a 51 year old Beaumont Man. A second suspect was interviewed by detectives and an additional arrest is forthcoming. Detectives believe this will clear up several additional open burglary cases.
