Police Arrest 3 Suspects For Burglary of Motor Vehicles and Engaging In Organized Criminal Activity

On Friday, December 30, 2016 at about 2:20 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the 1000 block of Wisteria in reference to the Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. After completing a report, the officer began patrolling the neighborhood. The Officer discovered that a homeowner in the 6500 block of Salem had caught the suspects burglarizing his vehicle. The Officer was able to detain one of the suspects, however the two other suspects fled on foot. Additional Officers responded to the area, including K-9 Officer, Duke. A track was conducted which ultimately led to the arrest of the two additional suspects. It was discovered that multiple unlocked vehicles were burglarized in the area. The suspects are identified as Shylaih Prescott, a 19 year old Beaumont woman, Chandler Gilford, an 18 year old Beaumont man and a Beaumont Juvenile. The adult suspects were transported to the Jefferson County Jail and the Juvenile was transported to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center.
