On Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at about 11:40 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to the Best Years Center located at 780 S. 4th Street in reference to a victim of a shooting. When Officers arrived they located an elderly female suffering from a gun shot wound to the head. Preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was shot in the back parking lot of the center, near her vehicle. The suspect is described as a dark skinned, slender black male, medium height, wearing a white t-shirt. After shooting the victim, the suspect stole her vehicle and fled. Police are still looking for the suspect and the vehicle and are asking the public to be on the lookout for a light bronze 2010 Honda CR-V bearing Texas license plate HYF-5576. If anyone sees the vehicle they are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
