The Beaumont Police Department is holding a Promotional Ceremony on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:30 am in the Training Room of our Department. We are promoting Officer William Parrott to the rank of Sergeant and welcoming James Gillen to be sworn in as a new Officer.
William Parrott is an 18-year veteran of the Beaumont Police Department and holds a Master Peace Officer License. While working in corrections he put himself through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Academy and later joined the Beaumont Police Department in June of 1997. He served in the patrol division as a Field Training Officer and in the Community Policing Unit.
Sgt. Parrott also served in the Criminal Investigations Division working in Narcotics, Auto Theft Task Force, Metal Theft and the Burglary Unit.
Sgt. Parrott is the father of three children.
Upon his promotion Sgt. Parrott will be assigned to first watch patrol.

James Gillen is a 6 six veteran coming from the Orange Police Department. James graduated from Lamar institute of technology’s regional police academy and is also a graduate of Lamar University with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
Officer Gillen is a father of one child.
Upon being sworn in Officer Gillen will be assigned to the Field Training Division.
