The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Club is “Fizz, Boom, Read”.

Summer is a a great opportunity for kids to put down the screens and engage in recreational reading! The Beaumont Library System invites youths age 3 through 18 to read this summer for prizes and awards.

Weekly programs start June 9, and include puppet and magic shows, story tellers, and more. The program concludes on Aug. 2. Over the course of the summer, readers log their participation by “books read” or “hours read”, depending on their age bracket.

Registration is required. Online registration at www.beaumontlibrary.org  opens June 2, and registration at library branches opens June 6. For those kids who just can’t wait, there will be a kick-off event on May 31 in conjunction with Movies in the Park at Wuthering Heights Park. The feature movie, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, begins at dusk. Activities begin at 7 p.m. The park is located at 3650 Delaware St.
