Beaumont, Tx. – Saturday 8/12/17 around 12:15 PM Beaumont Fire dispatch started receiving calls that a house was on fire in the 4300 block of Ave A, in Beaumont’s south end. Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames coming from the rear of the structure and heavy smoke coming from the front of the structure. During the fire attack the conditions worsened. The on-scene incident commander and safety officer noted these condition changes and ordered an evacuation. The interior crews ” bailed out” the front door and windows while additional resources were committed to the bringing the fire under control from the exterior. The fire was quickly brought back under control and extinguished a few minutes after fire crews were allowed back inside. No firefighters or members of the public were injured in this incident.
The Fire Marshal’s office was on scene early in the event and was able to interview several bystanders about the fire. The structure has not been occupied for the past several months.
