Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at approximately 3:00 PM, Beaumont Police Narcotics Detectives and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Agents executed a federal search warrant for J&J Automotive located at 5095 Concord. They were assisted by SWAT, K-9, SAU (Special Assignments Unit), ATTF (Auto Theft Task Force) and ATF (Alcohol Tabaco and Firearms).
This was to conclude an ongoing joint federal investigation between Beaumont Narcotics and the DEA. Jimmy Duriso, a 36 year old Beaumont man, was named in the warrant. SWAT made entry into the business and secured numerous people inside and outside the business. Once the location was secured, a search was conducted with K-9 assistance. Approximately 41 pounds of suspected “Kush” (synthetic marijuana) was located and seized. Jimmy Duriso was taken into federal custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute. This charge was related to the ongoing federal investigation.
Two additional people were arrested for unrelated warrants.
The investigation into the large amount of suspected synthetic marijuana “Kush” is ongoing and charges are expected in the near future, once the investigation is complete.
