On December 24, 2014 at 1:33PM units from the Beaumont Fire/Rescue responded to a report of a fire in the laundry room at 2310 Interstate 10 South, Red Roof Inn. Units arrived and discovered the sprinkler systems at this location had activated and contained a fire which had started in a dryer in the laundry room. The fire was discovered after the fire alarm system went into alarm and alerted employees. They called 911 and advised dispatchers there was a fire at the hotel. Guest were evacuated before fire units arrived. Firefighters extinguished burned remnants of pillows which had been placed inside the dryer to dry. No injuries were reported. Guest were allowed to return to their rooms after the sprinkler system was placed back in service. The hotel sustained moderate water damage from the sprinkler system activating.
