Fire Suppression units of the Beaumont Fire/Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire at 1120 Live Oak at approximately 7 AM. Firefighters arrived to find the structure heavily involved by fire. Firefighters initially conducted an interior fire attack, however heavy fire conditions forced firefighters to exit the structure. Fire suppression activities were then conducted from the exterior of the building and the fire was brought under control within fifteen minutes.
The occupants of the dwelling, two females and a male, were alerted to the fire by a smoke detector and were able to escape without injuries. The cause of the fire appears to be a window air conditioner unit. Red Cross was contacted and is assisting the occupants.
