At approximately 4:44 PM, multiple Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire at 2279 Evalon. When firefighters arrived they found a garage apartment with heavy flames visible. Firefighters had to force entry and made a rapid attack of the fire. During fire suppression activities, a search was also conducted of the apartment. A female victim was found in the living room area but did not survive. Her identity has not been confirmed at this time. Judge Dollinger has ordered an autopsy which should take place on Friday, At this time, the fire appears to be accidental. The investigation by Fire Investigators and Police Detectives is continuing.
