Beaumont Firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from a house at 4295 Woodlawn. Units arrived to find the kitchen at this location involved by fire. They made an interior fire attack and found the fire had spread into the attic area. Firefighters were able to control the fire within fifteen minutes after arriving on scene. It was determined the fire was caused by a pot being left unattended on the stove. The occupants were outside the structure at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The house sustained heavy damage from fire, smoke and water. Red Cross in assisting the occupants.
