This morning at 7:17AM, fire suppression units of the Beaumont Fire/Rescue responded to a report of a house on fire at 570 Campus, the owner of the house drove to Fire Station number 3 and reported to firefighters his house was on fire. A general alarm was sounded, Engine 3 along with additional fire units responded to this location. Upon arrival they discovered the kitchen on fire. They conducted fire suppression activities and were able to extinguish the fire within a few minutes. The owner/occupant of the house sustained minor injuries trying to extinguish the fire prior to driving over to the fire station. He was transported to Baptist Hospital by Beaumont EMS for treatment of his injuries. The cause of the fire appears to be an accidental.
