On Friday, 2/19/2016, at approximately 9:36 AM, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire reported at 2225 Cable. When Firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke billowing from the front of the house and there was a fire in the kitchen. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack and contain the fire damage to the kitchen and dining rooms with only heat and smoke damage to the rest of the house. The fire was caused by a pot of grease that caught fire on the stove. There were two adult occupants of the house who were able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived. Red Cross was called to assist the family.
