This morning at 2:05 a.m. Beaumont Police officers received a call at 1405 Washington in reference to a stolen vehicle that had a three month old child inside. Officers learned that the driver of the vehicle had went inside the store and left the vehicle running with the child unattended in the back seat. At this time, the suspect entered the vehicle and began to drive away as the father exited the store and attempted to stop the suspect. The vehicle was later located and stopped in Port Arthur in the 600 block of W. Gulfway, but the child was not inside the vehicle. The suspect identified as Marlin Seale, age 34 from Beaumont and was taken into custody. Seale did not cooperate in the investigation.

Officers continued the search and around 3:07 a.m. Beaumont dispatch received a call from a citizen in the 2800 block of Sarah that he found a baby in a car seat on his front porch. Officers went to this location and were able to identify the missing child. The three month old child was checked by EMS and reunited with the family.

Seale was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and booked in on Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Endangering a Child.
