The City of Beaumont has split one department into two – the Parks and Greenspace Department and the Recreation Department.
Parks and Greenspace is dedicated to the beautification and upkeep of our City’s parks, streets, and highway ditches.
Recreation is responsible for our City’s playgrounds, recreational activities and facilities, and more! They also coordinate with outside groups to bring programs like track and softball to Beaumont.

In 2023, the Beaumont City Council approved a $1.4 million budget for Parks improvements. Beaumont City Council has voted to move forward with plans to restore Riverfront Park in downtown Beaumont.
Callan Marine Ltd. has officially been authorized to begin the project on March 6, 2023, which gives a tentative completion date of September 6, 2024.
Expect to see demolition of landside items roughly April to May, dredging and excavation May to September, and installation of the steel bulkhead in September. Who else can’t wait to walk the trails again?
