It is with great sadness the City of Beaumont Public Health Department (BPHD) is reporting one (1) additional COVID-19 related death of a Beaumont resident. The female patient was between the ages of 70 and 80 with underlying medical conditions. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Beaumont to 23.
Again, this is an important reminder that COVID-19 continues to be a very serious disease. While 80% of individuals who contract COVID-19 will have mild to moderate symptoms and fully recover, they may spread the disease to people who are at high risk. Older adults and people with underlying health conditions or weakened immune systems are at a much higher risk for developing serious complications from COVID-19. We strongly advise at-risk individuals to minimize contact with others who are ill and practice social distancing.
