Traffic Alert- Saturday, November 7, 2015, Lamar University will celebrate their 2015 Homecoming. There are numerous events planned for the day including a homecoming parade. The parade will start at 1:00pm at E Lavaca and University Drive; it will proceed east on Lavaca to MLK; continue south on MLK to E Virginia and end at E Virginia and Rolfe Christopher Dr.
This event is suppose to happen rain or shine. The first road closure is Jimmy Simmons from E. Lavaca to Virginia at 10:45am. We will close and secure the entire route at 12:45pm. The parade will start at 1:00pm and is expected to end between 2:00pm or 2:30pm.
