Traffic Unit investigators are  in the process of upgrading charges against 65-year-old Rockline Kennedy in the crash that killed 18-year-old Kristin Ray Paris of Nederland.

Kennedy was driving a white Chevrolet truck in the wrong direction on Interstate 10 near Ford Park when he collided head-on with the blue Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Paris.  The crash occurred on Monday evening, January 26, at about 11:20 p.m.  Kennedy was driving his truck eastbound in the westbound lane of traffic when he struck Paris’ car.  The crash critically injured Paris and she later died at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Officers arrested Kennedy that evening and booked him in for Intoxication Assault.  Traffic Investigators are in the process of upgrading those charges to Intoxication Manslaughter, a second-degree felony.

Traffic Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in this investigation.  They are asking any motorist who may have witnessed Kennedy driving his white pickup truck in that vicinity near the time of the crash, or anyone who witnessed the crash, to call them at 409-980-7271.
