Detectives have confirmed that a second victim from the Memorial Day weekend shooting at Magnolia Park has died.
Thirty-nine year old Beaumont resident John Corbin, Jr., one of three men shot on Saturday May 23, died this afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
On the day of the shooting, officers arrested a 34-year-old Beaumont man as a suspect in the shooting. That suspect now faces possible upgraded charges of capital murder.
Detectives are still not able to release the suspect’s name or photo because they are still working to locate and interview potential witnesses to the shooting. Releasing the suspect’s name and photo at this point in this on-going investigation could potentially taint future witness identification of the suspect and could damage the integrity of the case.
